A message to the Friends and Family of Tuxbury Farm Equestrian Center:

It's with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from management of Tuxbury Farm Equestrian Center. A bittersweet time for sure! What an honor and privilege it’s been to serve you and the Low Country's passion for horses over the past 25 years! Each of you has been such an important part of the success and tradition we were able to share as a farm family.

Thursday,May 31, 2018, will be the last day of scheduled lessons. As I prepare for the next season of my life, I must also prepare for Tuxbury's "next"; therefore, I’m no longer accepting students for the lesson program. Our instructor, Jennifer Baker, will lead several camps this summer and then begin turning her full attention to her own “next” at Nine Pines Farm. I’d like to give a big shout out of appreciation to Jennifer for her commitment to being a part of this transition and wish her well going forward!

Regarding the 2018 camp program, camp will proceed as scheduled this summer for our registered campers with the last day of camp being August 3. Options and opportunities concerning our remaining school horses will be considered then.

Regarding board at Tuxbury Farm, I will continue to offer conveniently located board with the same loving care, attention, quality hay, feed and ample grazing you've come to know and expect. Our onsite trails will continue to be available for you to enjoy with hopes, in the near future, of having a new access to the National Forest from Halfway Creek Road. In addition, our boarders will now have an opportunity to invite an approved instructor of their choice to come in for lessons.

So what's next for Tuxbury Farm Equestrian Center? Definitely a walk of faith, not sight! We've been entertaining options for the main barn facility (upper 13 acres, 8 stall barn, and riding ring). These options have included passing of the management baton, a farm lease, a venue for equestrian related activities, as well as a purchase for farm use. Having ample space and a desirable location, it's our hope that the property remain beneficial to the equestrian community; the future, however, is yet to unfold!

At this time, I encourage you to support our neighboring barns for lessons, camps and clinics. There are many excellent instructors and outstanding programs within your reach! Should this facility become an option under new management, we’ll let you know by making an announcement on our Facebook page and website, tuxburyfarm.com.

Once again, my sincere appreciation to each of you for allowing me to be part of your journey and, for those who have waited patiently for a lesson or camp spot we were unable to provide, thank you for having considered us! May each of you continue to pursue your equestrian goals and dreams and may YOUR next be the best yet!
